A decade of redevelopment work in hotels, and sales and marketing in the hospitality arena in Sydney followed his retirement from sport and eventually led to his appointment in 2000 to project manage the transformation of Hervey Bay’s former Scarborough Hotel into what is now the Beach House Hotel.
This proved a fortuitous move for Mr Meredith and his family who were originally destined
for the Gold Coast.
After a successful 10-year foray in the Hervey Bay beachfront property market, Mr Meredith
has taken over the helm of Ray White Maryborough as owner and principal effective
December 1.
Maryborough has long attracted retirees and baby boomers, “but we’re seeing a lot of
young families moving here because of affordability, along with young investors because
they can get into the market and start a property portfolio for under $200,000. “The potential in Marybor ugh for investors to pick up property priced between $200,000-
$400,000 that is situated within minutes from the town centre is quite unique compared to
other metro locations.
“Improved access in and out of Maryborough via road, plane and rail has enabled
Maryborough to evolve into very much a satellite city.
“There’s also the option of living nearer the river and commuting to work at Hervey Bay,
while others choose to live at the Bay and drive into Maryborough.”
